Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Services
Luma offers a range of breast imaging and diagnostic services to support screening, investigation and further assessment. The appropriate examination or procedure depends on the individual's circumstances and clinical assessment.
3D mammography, also known as digital breast tomosynthesis, captures multiple X-ray images of the breast from different angles to create a series of reconstructed images.
Breast ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of breast tissue. It may be used alongside mammography or to investigate a specific breast finding, depending on the clinical situation.
Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of breast tissue. It may be recommended in selected circumstances to provide additional information.
Image-guided breast biopsy uses imaging to guide the collection of tissue samples from a breast finding for pathological examination. The appropriate biopsy technique depends on the nature and location of the finding.
Pathology examines tissue samples to help establish a diagnosis. Pathological findings form an important part of the assessment and management of breast conditions.

Nomogram Assessment Tool
Nomogram is a risk assessment tool for estimating a person’s recurrence -free likelihood following a histologic diagnosis of breast phyllodes tumour.
The tool is designed for medical purposes. If you are not a healthcare professional, you are advised to discuss the results with your doctor.
