Singapore Breast Multidisciplinary Conference (3-5 November 2023)
Solis Breast Care & Surgery Centre and Luma Women’s Imaging Centre in conjunction with the Singapore International Association of Pathologists (SGIAP) are proud to organise the inaugural Singapore Breast Multidisciplinary Conference (SBMC) to be held from 3rd to 5th November 2023 at the Parkroyal Hotel Beach Road Singapore.
This conference brings together all professionals involved in the management of breast diseases, with inclusion of surgery, radiology, pathology and oncology perspectives that are crucial for optimal care of patients diagnosed with breast conditions, especially breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in females globally and continues its relentless rise in incidence in Asia, where much of the world population is geographically located and where the burden of disease is a major healthcare challenge. It is important for all of us who participate in managing these patients, to have an integrated team approach that combines clinical, radiological and pathological assessments.
The exciting program has been specifically planned to reinforce the tight relationship of these disciplines, with tracks that cater to the individual specialties, culminating in a final day of combined multidisciplinary discussions of common diagnostic and management problems reflecting the realities of daily practice.
A key component of this conference is the breast pathology course which has a microscopy workshop component that allows pathologists to review and discuss interesting and problematic cases. Our international expert faculty of Professor Laura Collins from the USA and Professor Cecily Quinn from Ireland are globally recognised and will undoubtedly contribute their substantial experience to the educational content.
We hope this conference will promote multidisciplinary interactions with establishment of new friendships, reconnecting with old ones, and become a regular event on the annual breast educational calendar.
